It's quite overwhelming when you just can't get to blogging! Here's yet again another catch up time even though I'll only get to a few!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SaWbAGiFlqI/AAAAAAAAAPY/Q8fJM7_Wmqs/s320/IMG00276.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306818161981888162" />
December brough Ashlyn's 7th birthday. So hard to believe I was watching rodeo while in labor just 7 years ago (I was very relaxed with an epideral!). She enjoyed having over 5 of her friends from school and church. It was pretty chaotic at times in our small house but she loved it.

As always, we spent some time with Josh's family at Christmas time. We don't have many pictures of Josh's grandmother (mainly because she really doesn't like her picture taken!) but I snatched one of her and the kids. She always tells them before we leave "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck." They love Grammy.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SashhODEtII/AAAAAAAAAPw/oRqjSNe2uGs/s320/I+love+you+with+a+bushel+and+a+peck+and+a+hug+around+the+neck.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5308373440376648834" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SaWZOANUXFI/AAAAAAAAAPA/WZefXcFf6ZA/s320/The+Rhea+clan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306816201779076178" />California was fun in December. Besides getting to spend time with my grandparents and family, it was great to be on a mini-vacation by myself! Time alone doesn't happen much these days and it's always a welcome experience. I felt revived and ready to "hit it" again when I returned home. We finally got a picture of the three "Rheas": Uncle Bill Rhea, Phillip Rhea, and his son Nathan Rhea. Pretty cool family name, in my book. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SaWZqzb6qII/AAAAAAAAAPI/47w7gg4DeJc/s320/Wayne,+Mo,+the+kids,+M+%26+D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306816696566851714" />
While in CA, we took a trip to Disneyland - In all the times I've been to Disneyland, I'd never been there right around Christmas time! It was so fun and great to spend time with my niece and nephews! How fast they're growing up!

I just love this picture! Althought this is not a shock, it's hard to sort through the feelings of sometime soon losing someone that has been such an instrumental person in my life. He has battled with Alzheimer's for quite some time now and has been cared for by my grandmother (Graney), Uncle Bill, Aunt Gloria and my parents. He has stayed at home all this time even though that has taken its toll on my family. It's hard to imagine life without Papa. There are so many amazing, fun, humorous, and special memories. We have shared much and loved much. Yes, he's not gone physically yet but my "Papa" - the man I knew and grew up with - is no longer here on this earth. The illness has taken over and he is on his way to glory. I'm so very thankful that he knows the Lord and will be with Him soon. I rejoice that he has lived a very full life filled with over 65 years of pastoring and over 70 years of marriage. What a man!
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SaTHcE4n7sI/AAAAAAAAAOw/OM6VL4avaac/s320/Papa,+Graney+and+Bill.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306585546110791362" /> I also am thankful that I was able to go to California just after Christmas for the very purpose of visiting with him. Even though he had definate moments of confusion while I was in town, my visits with him were filled with much recollecting and he knew who I was the whole time I was there. It was a precious time. He even got to meet his newest great-grandson, Nathan - my brother Phil's son born last May.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SaTHk7esRYI/AAAAAAAAAO4/Pxm7Vhr6G_c/s320/Big+Papa+and+Nathan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306585698204927362" />

Halloweeeeeen!

Well, Halloween came and went. And now we have an ungodly amount of candy in our house. How about you?? It's such a funny holiday, isn't it? Walk around and gather sugar that we don't need which just makes our kids cranky and onery! Oh well... I did adopt something very clever from my mom - the 10% candy tithe to mom! Like I need it too!
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SQxt_B4dzdI/AAAAAAAAAKs/GptVBz8NcSQ/s320/T+or+T!.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263702994093723090" />
Anyway, the kids enjoyed dressing up and trick or treating with some friends.... In case you can't tell, Ashlyn was Jasmine (kind of - she was really supposed to be Little Bo Peep from a costume she wore for dance last year but when she got it on, Josh said it looked more like something from Aladdin so I put her hair in a high pony tail and we left the shepherd's staff at home!),
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SQxuxd3aqdI/AAAAAAAAAK8/ArXkEHgivPc/s320/Luke+T+or+T!.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263703860598974930" />
Luke was Superman and Ian was Batman. Are you surprised? Have you fallen on your rear in amazement that I'm finally getting around to updating my blog? I AM TOO!!! Really, I have great intentions, just not much follow through. My friends Tracey and Gretchen ask me periodically if I've updated and I hang my head in shame, "No...." Well, here I am to reclaim my name and my reputation!!! I really have some cute pictures so if you bear with me, please travel back a few months in time so I can show you what's been going on in our family's life.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SQnDnuZpZVI/AAAAAAAAAI0/k6fHdF_qFQE/s320/Enjoying+the+Park.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262952726797051218" />
This was a family outing to a local park that is very fun. Last week Ashlyn lost her first tooth. It was loose for a couple weeks but she was scared to have me pull it. I finally coerced her to let me try real quick and out it came! The tooth fairy deposited 4 quarters under her pillow even though I lost the tooth earlier that evening! What a bad mom!!!! It was on the counter when we left for church and gone when we came home. Maybe the tooth fairly came a bit early! :) I told Ash the tooth fiary knows where the tooth is and you don't really HAVE to have it under your pillow. We were right!!

Next on my agenda for blogging is pictures of our house and the whole fam together since there are several (one in particular, and you know who you are!) who've been asking for that for MONTHS! So sorry! They're coming!!!

The First Grade Scholar

Well, I took Ashlyn to her first day of 1st Grade this morning. Can't believe it's already here and the summer is gone! She was extremely excited even though she only knew 2 little girls in her new class. She'll probably have new best friends by the end of the day, though! It'll be hard to get used to her being gone 8 hours a day again. And taking that next step in "letting her go". We've had some really great memories this summer. The kids and I have spent a lot of time at the community pool - mainly to get us out of the house, get them more tired and keep them from tearing each other's hair out at home! (or to keep me from tearing out my hair which I came close to several times!)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SJpt2zajYlI/AAAAAAAAAHk/RmF-EoYRn3M/s320/Three+peas+in+a+pod.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5231614705426195026" />
Ashlyn took swim lessons and she went from being afraid to put her head under water to swimming like a little fish! She may grow scales pretty soon. I know she'll miss the pool until next summer. We'll have to make use of the indoor pool at the Y until then.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SJpuq9s9vkI/AAAAAAAAAHs/TvNs791ZWIs/s320/Father%27s+Day2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5231615601540972098" />
This is my fav picture of Josh and the kiddos taken on Father's Day. Love them!

I think my favorite day of the summer was the day we became cows. What??? You may say! Here's the story... Several weeks ago my Mom told me that Chic-fil-a was having "National Cow Appreciation Day" and if you dressed up like cows, they'd give you a free sandwich. So... on that particular Friday morning after breakfast, the kids and I colored black spots, I cut them out and safety pinned them to white t-shirts. They had headbands with black ears on them and we were all set!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SJpviWaqknI/AAAAAAAAAH0/kxww1XxEM8k/s320/Three+Cows.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5231616553067909746" />
After a trip to the gym, we donned on our white t-shirts and ears (yes, I participated too! my ears were on a black baseball hat) and walked in to our local Chic-fil-a. Needless to say, there were many stares and I felt quite sheepish as there were NO OTHER people dressed up like cows. We got a few snickers because they were probably wondering what in the world we were doing - obviously no one outside California knew about it!! There was not a sign in sight! As I approached the counter with my three calves beside me I said, "PLEASE tell me it's Cow Appreciation Day!!" After smiles and assurance that we got the right day, we received 4 free chicken sandwhiches and 2 free drinks!

Even though I felt silly we had a great time and giggled through it all. The kids had a blast and thought it was so fun. Worth a 1/2 hour making cow costumes?? I'd say so!! I'm sure it's a day they'll remember!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SJpvzcwS3YI/AAAAAAAAAH8/4WAFHHC9xVA/s320/Cows+at+Chic-fil-a.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5231616846827019650" />
Here's the kids outside the building. Sorry, you don't get to see MY cow shirt. I know, you're missing out, but really, it's okay!

Then there's the day the "6-Pack" decided to go to King's Island (a themepark in Cincinnati for you out-of-towners).
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SJpx_FMQTEI/AAAAAAAAAIE/wR-TK5wj4Yc/s320/6+Pack.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5231619245683526722" />
We set off with great intentions but were quite disappointed later when we got rained out about 3:30.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SJpyYrzDAjI/AAAAAAAAAIM/S_lVSxZUG-Y/s320/Matt+trying+to+climb.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5231619685543510578" />
Matt tried his hand at climbing the rope ladder to win a stuffed animal the size of our van. Don't know how we would have gotten that one home! Sorry it didn't work out for you, Matt! Considering we only rode about 6 rides and a couple water slides, we felt jipped. Plus, I almost died (okay, slight exaggeration!) from motion sickness coupled with heat and humidity. I almost threw up and passed out but with a little food, I felt better - good enough to go on some water slides! After running through the pouring rain, we decided take our soggy selves to dinner (we were really styling!) and a movie - The Happening. Wierd movie but I guess good in a VERY disturbing sort of way.... Overall, a day that we didn't go as planned but we made the best of the circumstances!

Random Pictures

Here's some cute and/or quirky pictures from the past 2-3 weeks I have to share...

Ashlyn on her last day of Kindergarten with her teacher Mrs. Finch. I say this carefully, but I believe he's coming out of his screaming phase and is learning how to communicate in a world that uses words instead of high pitches. His vocabulary has exploded in the last couple weeks are we are ever so thankful! One day he couldn't talk, the next it seems his vocabulary had 20 words in it! So much fun! My parents taught him how to say "I'm Two!" and he graced us with that all evening.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SFfuNj5CTcI/AAAAAAAAAGM/IRYYcF_6bzk/s320/Ian,+Papa+%26+Graney.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212897010444815810" />
Here's his birthday party. It was freezing outside - probably could have had a fire in the fireplace! Okay, maybe not, but it was too cold. I wore a sundress anyway even though I topped it off with a short jean jacket. I love having a pic with the kids on Mother's Day! I get it, I get it! I know I've been overly delinquent in posting new pics of the house and family. So here I am! No new pictures of the house today (I haven't taken any) but a few new ones of the family and such! Those of you (and you know who you are!) who've been bugging me can relax for a little while! I say that lovingly.....

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SDHEJuiv9aI/AAAAAAAAAD0/N8jYwwMAvdo/s320/Ash+with+the+Eleph.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202154715981280674" />
I went with Ash a couple weeks ago to the Lousiville Zoo. We had a blast - it was a beautiful day and we saw just about everything there. We were tired at the end of the day but overall, it was very fun.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SDHEjOiv9bI/AAAAAAAAAD8/VcB4tDcdHiw/s320/Luke+in+Pre-Op.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202155154067944882" />
Luke had his eye surgery on May 7th. Luke's eyes began to cross again with his glasses on a couple months ago and his doctor said this time a stronger prescription would not help - he needed surgery. So! almost 2 weeks ago they operated on his eyes, moving the muscles that were pulling them in back a tad and they are straight! He will still need to wear glasses for his far-sightedness but no more crossing. This picture was before he went in to surgery. He did fairly well - the hardest thing being that he could feel the stitches and he wanted to rub his eyes. He's doing much better now and they're hardly red anymore.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SDHFreiv9cI/AAAAAAAAAEE/HtWE6VjMAU8/s320/Little+Bo+Peep.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202156395313493442" />
Ash had her end of the year dance recital last night. It was very cute. The theme of the whole recital was Disney and she did a tap routine to "You've got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story (which is what this outfit it for - she was Little Bo Peep) and a ballet/jazz routine to a song from Lilo and Stitch. All very cute and we were very proud of her!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SDHGdOiv9dI/AAAAAAAAAEM/TCwyuN0bV3g/s320/Bros.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202157250011985362" />
Brothers... obviously, Ian was not into this photo shoot!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SDHGvuiv9eI/AAAAAAAAAEU/lyjlE2XTyLw/s320/Come+on,+Ian!.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202157567839565282" />
Come on, Ian!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PRyyZc-OfXs/SDHG9-iv9fI/AAAAAAAAAEc/znD6Oo5bPFM/s320/You%27re+NOT+going+to+take+my+pic!.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202157812652701170" />
Nope!
